CITIZENSHIP LICENSES

The MAR program includes Citizenship Products which are designed to allow Refurbishers to install low-cost Windows and Office for a limited group of recipients.

Here are the groups of recipients, which are eligible for Citizenship products:

1. Eligible Academic Users – educational institutions that are either:

  • accredited academic institutions;
  • vocational institutions;
  • preschools that provide educational services to children, serve at least ten children, and have been in operation for at least one year.

2. Eligible Charitable Organization – an organization that is eligible for the Microsoft Product Donation program.

3. Specially Approved Recipients – these include the following:

  • A teaching hospital or medical training school;
  • A public research establishment fully funded by government on a local, national or European level;
  • A national or regional governmental initiative, or such other initiative, as approved in writing by Microsoft;
  • Public libraries that provide their services to all residents of a given community without charge. Some charges may apply for users outside a designated region or for other services.

4. Technology Access Program (TAP) – a documented program that distributes Customer Systems to Qualified Individuals. It is run by one of the following:

  • Eligible Charitable Organization,
  • Eligible Academic User,
  • national, state/provincial or local government agency; or
  • international governmental organization.

“Qualified Individual” means a person, who is either:

  • In a community with limited access to technology;
  • With a disability;
  • A member of a low-income family.
