Dell Latitude 5411 14-inch business laptop with a 45W-class H-series CPU from the Latitude 5000 series

The Dell Latitude 5411 is the odd one out in the mainstream Latitude 5000 series — a business chassis with the same width and depth as the standard Dell Latitude 5410, but with a 4- or 6-core, 45W-class Comet Lake-H processor inside. As a refurbished business laptop from ITR Bulgaria, it is a sensible pick for people who want more sustained CPU power without paying for a dedicated mobile workstation.

Benefits

Why the Dell Latitude 5411 makes sense as a refurbished business laptop with H-series performance

Comet Lake-H 45W-class processor

A 4-core i5-10400H or 6-core i7-10850H vPro — H-series chips with a nominal 45W TDP per Intel; Dell lists 35W in the Latitude 5411 specifications. That gives potential for more performance in builds and computation than the 15W U-series in the standard Dell Latitude 5410. Results under sustained load depend on the specific processor, cooling and settings.

DDR4-2933, upgradeable to 64 GB

Two SO-DIMM slots, no soldered memory — you can add RAM after purchase. DDR4-2933 is faster than the 2667 on the U-series Dell Latitude 5410, because more cores need more bandwidth. Real headroom for teams that buy once and keep the machine for years.

Optional NVIDIA MX250 graphics

Some configurations ship with a discrete MX250 — enough for light CAD, GPU-accelerated video work and driving a second display without taxing the CPU. Check whether the specific unit includes it.

Aluminium chassis, MIL-STD-810G

An aluminium build that passed MIL-STD-810G testing for vibration, shock and temperature cycling. A machine that holds up to daily carrying between office, home and site visits.

51/68 Wh ExpressCharge batteries

A 3-cell 51 Wh or 4-cell 68 Wh battery with Dell ExpressCharge — up to 80% in about an hour with ExpressCharge mode enabled, the laptop powered off and a suitable Dell adapter. Enough to get through a working day, or from one desk to the next without a charger. There is also a 68 Wh long-life-cycle variant that does not support ExpressCharge.

Full port selection

1× Thunderbolt 3, 3× USB-A, HDMI, a full-size RJ45 Ethernet port and a microSD reader. You connect a legacy wired network and modern peripherals at the same time, without digging for adapters.

TPM 2.0 + optional ControlVault 3

Corporate security: TPM 2.0 as standard and optional Dell ControlVault 3 for isolated storage of passwords and fingerprints. Optional fingerprint reader in the power button and an IR camera for Windows Hello.

14″ FHD IPS display option

The same 14-inch Full HD IPS panel as the standard Dell Latitude 5410, with an anti-glare finish. Better configurations reach 300 nits and 100% sRGB for more accurate colour during long document work.

Optional Wi-Fi 6 (AX201) + Bluetooth 5.0

The optional Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 holds a steady connection in crowded office networks with dozens of devices — useful during video calls and large file uploads.

Value as a refurbished Dell Latitude

H-series performance at a more reasonable price. As a used business laptop from the mainstream Latitude line, audited and refurbished with a real warranty, the Dell Latitude 5411 offers more processing power than a new budget laptop at a comparable price.

Product description

Dell Latitude 5411: H-series Comet Lake performance in a mainstream Latitude chassis

The standard Dell Latitude 5410 ran Comet Lake-U processors with a 15W thermal budget — exactly what a mainstream business laptop is supposed to use. The Dell Latitude 5411 is the exception to that rule. Same width and depth, a similar set of ports and the same slot in the portfolio, in a thicker chassis — but inside sits 45W-class Comet Lake-H silicon: a 4-core i5-10400H or 6-core i7-10850H vPro. Intel rates them at a nominal 45W TDP, while Dell lists 35W for the processors in this model. That was CPU power most makers of the day reserved for larger, pricier machines. And it makes the model interesting in hindsight: Dell put H-series chips into the mainstream 5000 series at a time when even the flagship Latitude 7000 stayed U-series only.

To see why that matters, a short look at the line itself helps. Latitude is one of the longest-running business series on the market — a corporate work tool with decades of history and a reputation for durability and a long service life. In its modern form, Dell stacks the portfolio in clear tiers: Latitude 3000 is entry level, 5000 is the mainstream backbone, 7000 is the premium flagship and 9000 is ultra-premium. What many people miss is that within the 5000 series Dell separates standard models from performance variants — next to the 5410 (standard, U-series) sits the 5411 (performance, H-series), just as the 5511 sits next to the 5510. The Dell Latitude 5411 is the 14-inch entry into that more powerful sub-group: the familiar mainstream chassis that IT departments understand and support easily, but with a processor from a higher tier.

The numbers behind that difference deserve to be pronounced slowly. With the Core i7-10850H: six cores, twelve threads, turbo to 5.1 gigahertz — and an optional discrete GeForce MX250 on top. That is a portion of power which, one generation earlier, lived only in mobile workstations at twice the price and twice the thickness. Reviewers were unanimous about both sides of the coin: the machine handles “much more than office work,” but under full load the cooling has something to say. A fair bargain — whoever buys six cores in 14 inches knows why.

The platform has practical consequences. The DDR4-2933 memory is faster than the 2667 on the U-series 5410 — H-series cores need more bandwidth so they don't starve under load. Two SO-DIMM slots allow an upgrade to 64 GB DDR4-2933 after purchase, with nothing soldered; some configurations also add a discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX250 that takes on light CAD and GPU-accelerated work. The ports cover both the old and the new world: 1× Thunderbolt 3, 3× USB-A, HDMI, full-size RJ45 and microSD. The cost of a 45W-class processor in a 14-inch body is an engineering one, not a marketing line — Dell had to add a heavier thermal solution, which is why the starting weight is 1.54 kg with an HD non-touch display, WLAN, integrated graphics, a 51 Wh battery and an M.2 SSD, and the fan is audible when every core is working. The aluminium chassis passes MIL-STD-810G, and the 51 or 68 Wh ExpressCharge battery returns up to 80% in about an hour with ExpressCharge mode enabled, the laptop powered off and a suitable Dell adapter.

Who is this a logical choice for? A developer on a mainstream budget who compiles projects and wants the machine to hold up under long load rather than throttle after a minute. An engineer or architect doing lighter CAD with no need for certified ISV drivers. A student in a technical field who runs virtual machines and simulations. And an analyst keeping heavy spreadsheets and database queries open all day. Who is it not for — if you want the lightest ultraportable for pure travel, the U-series 5410 or the flagship 7000 series are easier to carry; if you work with certified workstation software, your place is in Dell's separate Precision line.

That is where the honest trade-off comes in. Against the U-series Dell Latitude 5410 (from 1.48 kg, 15W), the Dell Latitude 5411 wins on sustained performance but gives up weight and quiet — 45W means a heavier chassis and a more noticeable fan. If you need more screen area for spreadsheets, the Dell Latitude 5511 is the same H-series platform in a 15.6-inch format: more room, more weight. And if it really comes down to a certified workstation for CAD, the Dell Precision 3550 is the official mobile workstation with ISV certification — a different category, not simply a "tier up"; the 5411 only partly overlaps that role. As a refurbished business laptop, though, the Dell Latitude 5411 holds a rare spot: a used business laptop with H-series muscle that, after a technical audit and refurbishment by ITR Bulgaria, comes with a real warranty and preparation for renewed business use. For a buyer after a used laptop with genuine processing power rather than just a cheap device, that is a sensible deal.

Who it suits

Scenarios where the Dell Latitude 5411 makes the strongest sense

Developers on a mainstream budget

A programmer compiling large projects with several containers running at once — the six cores of the i7-10850H suit that kind of work, given enough memory. Under long load the clock speed can drop: the real result depends on cooling, settings and the specific project.

Engineers and architects with light CAD

A designer who opens medium-sized CAD models and renders occasionally, but has no budget (or need) for a certified workstation. With the optional MX250 and an H-series CPU, the Dell Latitude 5411 handles those tasks — as long as the work doesn't require ISV-certified drivers.

Students in technical fields

A computer science or engineering student running virtual machines, simulations and builds between lectures. H-series power plus a memory upgrade path to 64 GB give a long horizon — one machine for the whole degree.

Analysts with heavy data

A financial or business analyst keeping huge Excel files open and running heavy database queries at once. The extra cores of the 6-core i7 configuration and fast DDR4-2933 memory show up exactly where a U-series laptop starts to hesitate.

Additional information

Where does the Dell Latitude 5411 fit in the series? ▼

The Dell Latitude 5411 belongs to the Latitude 5000 series — Dell's mainstream business line, sitting between the entry Latitude 3000 and the flagship Latitude 7000. But within the 5000 series itself, the Dell Latitude 5411 holds a specific spot: it is the performance variant that puts a 45W-class H-series processor into a mainstream chassis with the same width and depth as the standard model, but thicker. Its standard sibling is the Dell Latitude 5410 (U-series, lighter).

Across the neighbouring sizes: the 14-inch Dell Latitude 5411 has a 15.6-inch counterpart in the Dell Latitude 5511 — the same H-series platform, more screen area and weight. So the choice comes down to the balance between portability (Dell Latitude 5411, 14″) and working space (Dell Latitude 5511, 15.6″).

An important distinction: the Dell Latitude 5411 is not a workstation. For a certified mobile workstation, Dell has a separate line — Precision. The Dell Latitude 5411 only partly overlaps that role through its H-series CPU and optional MX250, but without ISV certification.

The Dell Latitude 5411 is not ideal if… ▼
  • You need a certified workstation with ISV drivers for heavy CAD, simulation or 3D rendering — for that role, look at the Dell Precision series.
  • You want the lightest ultraportable for daily travel — the H-series thermal solution makes the Dell Latitude 5411 heavier (starting at 1.54 kg depending on configuration); the U-series Dell Latitude 5410 or the flagship 7000 series are easier to carry.
  • You want quiet operation with no audible fan — under full load the 45W-class processor spins the cooling up more than a U-series model.
  • You need a 15-inch screen for roomier spreadsheet work — the Dell Latitude 5511 is the same H-series platform in a larger format.
  • You need a guaranteed specific configuration (MX250, a particular CPU, RAM, a 300-nit display or IR camera) — configurations vary, so it is important to check the specific unit before buying.
Which size and form factor should you choose? ▼

The 14-inch class is the balance between screen area and portability. The Dell Latitude 5411 sits in that spot, but with more processing power than the standard 14-inch Dell Latitude 5410 — at the cost of a little more weight (starting at 1.54 kg depending on configuration) due to the thermals for a 45W-class processor.

15.6-inch class (Dell Latitude 5511): the same H-series platform, more screen area for spreadsheets and multi-window work. Heavier — suited to mostly desk-based work or infrequent carrying.

Lighter 14-inch variant (Dell Latitude 5410): U-series 15W, a lighter chassis, quieter operation. A good fit if the priority is mobility rather than sustained CPU power.

Form factor: the Dell Latitude 5411 is a standard clamshell laptop without 360-degree hinges. In this generation, the 5000 series does offer 2-in-1 variants, but among the smaller 13-inch models, not the performance 14-inch Dell Latitude 5411.

Alternative models ▼

Within Dell:

Dell Latitude 5410 — the standard 14-inch variant from the same generation, with a U-series 15W processor and a starting weight of 1.48 kg. Lighter and quieter, a more affordable refurbished option. You gain portability and give up the sustained H-series performance of the Dell Latitude 5411.

Dell Latitude 5511 — the same H-series platform in a 15.6-inch format. You gain screen area for spreadsheet work and give up compactness and weight. A logical choice if you need more display.

Dell Precision 3550 — the official mobile workstation with ISV certification for selected configurations and applications for CAD and engineering software. A different category, not simply a "tier up": the Dell Latitude 5411 delivers H-series power, but without the certified workstation drivers of the Dell Precision. Choose the Dell Precision if your software requires official certification.

Note: the Dell Latitude 5411 is unusual in carrying an H-series processor in a mainstream chassis — direct cross-brand equivalents from HP or Lenovo in the same mainstream 14-inch class generally stayed on U-series, while the H-series competitors lived in the mobile-workstation category.

Refurbished by ITR Bulgaria: what value do you get? ▼

The Dell Latitude 5411 is a model where refurbishment by ITR Bulgaria has clear logic. The Latitude 5000 series is built with a long corporate service life in mind — components are standardised, documentation is available, and both memory and storage can be upgraded (2 SO-DIMM slots). That allows professional refurbishment with a predictable result.

After going through the process, the used laptop is prepared for renewed business use: technical audit, cleaning, configuration, original software and packaging with a real warranty. With the Dell Latitude 5411 this is especially worthwhile — you get H-series processing power at the price of a refurbished mainstream laptop, rather than a new mobile workstation.

Frequently asked questions ▼

Is the Dell Latitude 5411 a good choice as a used laptop?

Yes, for a specific reason. The Dell Latitude 5411 is the performance variant of the mainstream Latitude 5000 series — with a 45W H-series processor instead of the usual U-series. As a refurbished laptop from the business class, it gives access to more sustained processing power at a price closer to a mainstream laptop than to a new mobile workstation.

What is the difference between the Dell Latitude 5410 and Dell Latitude 5411?

The two share the chassis width and depth, ports and position in the series, but differ in thickness and processor. The Dell Latitude 5410 uses Comet Lake-U with a 15W thermal budget — typical for a mainstream laptop. The Dell Latitude 5411 uses Comet Lake-H (i5-10400H, i7-10850H vPro) with a nominal 45W TDP per Intel and 35W in Dell's specifications — more sustained performance and faster DDR4-2933 memory, but also more weight (starting at 1.54 kg versus 1.48 kg) and a more noticeable fan under load.

Is the Dell Latitude 5411 suitable for CAD and engineering work?

For light to medium CAD — yes, especially in the configurations with a discrete NVIDIA MX250. But the Dell Latitude 5411 is not a certified workstation: if your software requires official ISV drivers (for heavy CAD, simulation or CAE), the right category is the Dell Precision. The Dell Latitude 5411 covers the less demanding engineering tasks on a mainstream budget.

What configurations does the Dell Latitude 5411 come in?

The model comes with an Intel Core i5-10400H or i7-10850H vPro, up to 64 GB DDR4-2933 across 2 SO-DIMM slots, an NVMe SSD of varying capacity and a 14-inch display: an HD option at 220 nits or FHD IPS options at 220 or 300 nits. Some units may include a discrete NVIDIA MX250, an IR camera for Windows Hello or a fingerprint reader. It is important to check the specific configuration before buying.
